S4 EP62 Two Perspectives on Title 9 in Celebration of the 50th Anniversary, Featuring Dana Sorensen and Laura Marcus

Laurie Jabbar, Featuring Dana Sorensen and Laura Marcus Season 4 Episode 62

50 years of Title IX! The 37 words that changed everything for women in sports and education.  In honor of the anniversary, and in effort to pay it forward for the next generation of female athletes, we bring two amazing women to Studio 50 to discuss their perspectives and what they hope will evolve in the future for this important amendment.  Dana Sorensen has had a long and successful career as softball player that spanned from Stanford University to the National Professional Fastpitch league and the USA National Team.  Dana now helps both amateur and professional athletes, with the emphasis of getting the most out of their sports without the extreme pressures that come along with elite athletics.  Laura Marcus has been behind some of the most successful sports television programs ever created.  As a renowned expert in talent booking, talent relations and entertainment marketing, Laura helped turn Michael Strahan into a TV star, played a significant role on the Best Damn Sports Show Period, was the first to put Skip and Stephen A on television, brought on talent for CBS Sports Network's show, "We Need to Talk," and was instrumental in the production of several Title IX related programming recently launched on numerous platforms for the 50th Anniversary.   This is a quick, reflective and educational episode for all those that want more information on Title IX and how to show support.
